It's been a wild first year for The Martian Garden!

Thanks to all of you - our backers, customers, and supporters -  we've grown from building desktop kits to being the world's only commercial supplier of Mars regolith simulant. We've been fortunate to supply some of the most amazing people and organizations in the space exploration community with Mars simulant. We've also, and perhaps more importantly, had the opportunity to work with some of the best teachers and educators in the world. 

Over the last year we've learned that Mars regolith simulant isn't just a useful geologic analog for the surface of Mars - it's also an incredibly powerful resource for STEM education. By giving students the opportunity to hold "Mars" in their hand, we can help connect them with an incredibly wide variety of topics, motivating them to actually want to learn.

That's why we're launching The Martian Garden Version 2. We're starting a transition from just a webstore for simulant to a community for STEM Educators who want to get their students excited about the Journey to Mars. Over the next few weeks you'll be seeing a lot of changes around here as we start to implement some new features, such as:

• An improved Educator Discount Program
• A repository of classroom projects using Mars regolith simulant
• Curricula and lesson plans based on subject and age group
• A community forum for educators to share their projects, results, what works and what doesn't
• A surprise or two
